MURDOCH INTERNATIONAL PHD SCHOLARSHIPS.
These scholarships are available to postgraduate students who are citizens of overseas countries, excluding New Zealand, who are commencing full-time study for a higher degree by Research (Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy or Doctor of Education) at Murdoch University.
Covering
The Scholarship is provided to cover the tuition fees set by Murdoch University for each year of the course.
This is limited to three years for students enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy and two years for a Master of Philosophy.
For successful recipients, Murdoch University will provide a living allowance.
Eligibility
The following are ineligible for a scholarship under this scheme:
1) International students who have already obtained a PhD degree or equivalent.
2) International students who have already obtained a Master`s degree by research and are applying to undertake another Master`s degree by research.
3) International students who have already commenced the degree for which they are seeking, unless the applicant can establish that they were unable to apply for an award in the previous year.
4) International students who are currently studying on a scholarship sponsored by AUSAID or have just completed study on such a scholarship. These students are required to return to their home country for at least one year before returning to Australia. Australian and New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
5) Applications are open to citizens of all overseas countries (excluding New Zealand) who are commencing full time postgraduate study in the following year. There is no age restriction. Candidates will be required to enrol at Murdoch University as "international students" and must maintain "international student" status for the duration of their enrolment in the University or risk the possibility of continuing as a fee-paying student.
6) The allocation of awards will be restricted to students who can demonstrate that they have adequate English proficiency.
Closing date
All applications must reach Murdoch International by 30 September. Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified in late December.
