PIONEER INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND.

The Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Research and Product Development International Scholarship Fund is designed to contribute to agricultural research and education in developing countries by sending outstanding international students to U.S. universities for Ph.D. level graduate study in plant breeding.

Overview

The “Pioneer International Scholarship Awards” are gifts that are to be used solely for the direct expenses associated with the attainment of a degree from a United States based institution. No university overhead will be paid from these funds.

Criteria

1) Candidates who have been accepted at a U.S. plant breeding institution for Ph.D. program.

2) Candidates who have demonstrated outstanding potential in plant breeding disciplines of interest to Pioneer.

3) Candidates who desire to return to their country of origin and contribute to agricultural development.

4) Candidates from developing countries lacking a strong agronomic educational

base.

5) Candidates whose financial situation would otherwise preclude the attainment of an advanced degree. Also, the ability of the candidate to obtain matching funds to Pioneer`s contributions is desirable and will be considered.

6) Candidates must be nominated and sponsored by a Pioneer manager.
