Virginia International University Scholarship Program.
The Virginia International University Scholarship Program is designed to provide encouragement and public recognition to students who have demonstrated academic excellence. The program is supported by generous contributions from individuals, organizations, corporations and foundations. Scholarships range from $500 to $7,794 per year.
Purpose
With the following scholarship programs,they aim to attract academic-minded students from all over the world and provide them with an equal opportunity to study in the USA. Their "Tuition Scholarship" requires the scholarship recipients to join our assistantship programs and participate in research projects or help the instructors prepare for classes. Research Assistants will work with professors on graduate level projects, and Teaching Assistants will help undergraduate professors and students.
Eligibility
Any incoming freshman, undergraduate, or graduate student- including international students, planning to attend Virginia International University full-time in a degree program, whether entering or continuing- is eligible if the scholarship requirements as stated below are met.
Requirements
Application to, acceptance by, or enrollment as a matriculated student in Virginia International University is required. Additional requirements for individual scholarships vary depending on the scholarship. Students can apply for only one scholarship program. The GPA at VIU is calculated on the student`s un-weighted, cumulative GPA as determined by registrar, including the fall semester proceeding the application period. Applicants must submit a complete application packet including all required materials for the given scholarship by the deadline date in order to be considered.
Timeline
The completed application package must be postmarked on or before May 31 of the application year to be considered with the following Fall semester. Students who granted an award must also re-apply every year before May 31 for the approval of continuation his/her scholarship award. Awards for the succeeding school year will be announced by June 15.
This scholarship is also available for Graduate level.
